The Hunger Games

Opening scene
Music = Slow
Minor tone = often means something bad is happening or about to happen
Silence = grabs attention

Camera shots
Mid shots - To shows face and body language
Closeup - of katness and prim to show emotions
Wide view - it shows the setting and more information at once
Extreme closeups - Focused on some specific information
Tracking shot - showed how her surroundings changed.
Shaky camera - More realistic, unsettling, it is as it is running with her, It makes seance for the scene

Dialogue
Crane and Caesar = Celebration ' knotting people together'
Cranes style of game making make prim cry & scream
Prim dreams it was her selected
Katniss says ' Its your first time you wont get picked' Foreshadowing

Colour and lighting
The interview  - Saturated colours, very bright, neon, Artificial. cold light
District 12 - dull, bland, natural, sad, dark, cold light,

Day 2

Music
Capital video Was major - War in the past was worse 
the rest of the music was minor - Kids are terrified 


Dialogue 
When they were reading the names out
Calm at first then screaming
‘I volunteer as tribute’ - Sister bond
The first volunteer for district 12
Surprised - Volunteer makes her feel better - Could get a promotion 
Excited - Entertaining too the capital
Calm - doesn’t have to sacrifice

-Effie, About too read out volunteers -> see her make-up, how she is different to everyone else.

-Effie takes katniss & Peta away 
-When katniss is in the crowd
