Kete

For this kete task we have to find the definition for these words down below. We were given this reading to find the definitions and we have to write them into sentences.

  • Waiata
A waiata is a song (karakia) that supports the speech's.


  • Pōwhiri
Pōwhiri are used to welcome school groups all the way up to royalty onto the marae grounds.

  • Kaikaranga
A Kaikaranga is a adult woman caller for the group. It is most appropriate for the caller to be a female adult.

  • Rangatahi

  • Rangatahi is the te reo name for teenager.

  • Kaikōrero
A Kaikōrero is an adult male that replies to the welcome speech. It is most appropriate that the Kaikōrero is a adult male.

  • Wharemanaaki
The Wharemanaaki is the restroom building and it is a place where they sort out the envelope
