Passion Projects.

For passion projects this year, I got together in a group with my friends; Kalim, Kayla, Lorelei, Tj & Kaleb. We had a goal to set up / produce a football tournament for the primary school next door. Our driving question was, “How do you set up a football tournament”. We had only just started working on it but then we were faced with the problem of the time limit. If we were to set up this tournament we would have needed more time than we had left which wasn’t going to work. We then had to come together as a group and review our options. After a little bit of discussion, we came to the conclusion that we are now going to work on creating a comedic football video where we have an expectation side then a reality side. Doing this it won't take very long to complete as all we have to do is a film and then edit the video so I think it will be able to be accomplished within the timeframe set.

For this all we will need is, A football, a phone and we will need to record on the school field.

Up until now, we haven't recorded anything but we have come up with a document full of different ideas and clips we can record. We will be presenting this through a comedic video.

Passion Project Reflection

For this writing task we had to write about our opinion on passion projects. We were given different sentence starters and we had to finish them.  Here are all of the sentence starters and my answers to them.

The passion project I chose was community projects.
I learned working in groups can be difficult but good at the same time.
The part I enjoyed the most was working together with people from different year levels and with people that I don't work with on a daily basis.
Something I disliked was at the start of every lesson a few groups that were doing sport related activity's had to stay behind and get told about times and letters to the primary school and having a catch up with others.
Next time I would work with different people and maybe try a different activity group.
Overall I thought that passion projects was a really great and fun experience for everyone and I would always do it again.

Passion Projects

For passion projects we are doing a football tournament with Hornby Primary School. Over my journey doing this so far i have learnt and worked with people i don't work with in a daily occasion. I have learnt different skills that are needed to work as a group and keeping on topic. We have written our letter to send to the Primary school to inform them on the activity. We have made a google form so we can see if the students want to join in with this activity and we have made a slide that has different skills and tricks that you can do to fool the others. This helps me/my group get closer to the final goal and to achieve this.  Our next step is to make arrangements with the Primary School so then we can finalize a date to do this activity.

Passion Projects. The Introduction

This week the teachers introduced passion projects. The teachers let us get into groups and our one was to large and it wasn't working so we split in half and our work is getting done. My group consists of Reige, Kalim, Tj, Logan, Robbie, Callum and myself. We had to work on something called a S.W.O.T analysis. S.W.O.T stands for each letter in the table below and we had to write at least 3 reasons in each box. We then had to find a way to overcome each of the reasons in them boxes.

Sport Tournament
Football skills for wonder kids
  • We’re going to teach primary students skills and improve their skills.
  • After we had done our training session we would have a tournament.

S.W.O.T  analysis

Strength
  • Most of us have good skills at football.
  • We all had teaching experience
  • We all had training
Weakness
  • Some people are late to school
  • Some people are bad at communicating
  • Most people don’t listen
Opportunities
  • Being role models
  • New friends
  • Building up the leadership
  • Learning new skills
Threats
  • Permissions
  • Other friends that aren’t in the group
  • Talking about other topics

 “Problem Solving”

                            - Get everyone attention .
Weakness Solutions
                            - Message each other on Social Media or Emails if your not coming.
                           - Remind them not to be late to school.
                           - If people aren't listening, tell them to listen or they are out of the group.

  • Write a letter to the principal to ask permission for the students training.
Threat Solutions
      - Talk to them about the work instead of talking about their weekends
      - Only talk about the work not other things.

  • If some primary students have like skills that we haven’t known, they could also teach us.
Opportunities
  • Be really helpful to students so they would look up to you.
______________________________________________________________________________

  • Use our experience to teach the students.
Strengths
  • We can use our skills to teach the students.
