This is my poster on human rights that i have done in social studies. It lists the 30 different human rights

Critical Literacy

Critical literacy - is when you apply critical thinking to a text

Bias - Favoring one thing over another
Source - Where you get the information from
Credible - Someone who can prove what their saying
Authority - Someone who has power or the respect of people
Reliable - It is trustworthy
Perspective - The way you or someone sees something
Agenda - Your intentions 
Manipulate - To change someones opinion on the subject

Text - Something you can get information from
Construction - The way a piece of text is put together
Representation -  Showing or picturing something
Stereotype - An idea that is usually oversimplified, a fixed mindset on something
Bias - Favoring one thing over another
Inclusion - To welcome something in
Exclusion -  Leave something out
Masculine / Feminine -  Having to do with either male or female

We have to Find four questions that we have to do with

Inclusion in a text

• Is the text fair
• Who benefits from the text?
• Who is allowed to speak and who is quoted 
• in who's interest is the text

Exclusion in a text

• Who's missing in the text ?
• What has been left out of the text?
• Who's views are excluded or privileged in the text 
• Is the text fair 

Representation in a text

How are Children, teenagers, or young adults constructed in the text?

How are Adults constructed in the text?

Why is the text written the way it is?

What view of the world is the text representing?

So in the Text Somewhere that's green we watched it was very stereotypical. We saw the females dressing in poofy dresses, Wearing makeup, doing all of the house work aka cleaning, cooking, being the perfect wife. The men were outside doing the (manly) jobs. Mowing the lawns, playing with the dog. In this one she was looking at like washing machines and stuff in the magazine at the start of the musical.

Legally blonde

In this musical the female in it was really expressive and loud. She was also wearing bright colours . She was showing how she can be as loud and expressive as the males in the video. In the first musical she was quiet and this musical she was loud. Some of the stereotypes stayed the same throughout both because of things like the blonde hair, they were both wearing dresses and slight bright clothes. The main character was bright and all of the other people were wearing dull clothes and like blending into the background.

Synopsis:
In the advert they went to the bar and their was a designated driver that wasn't meant to drink but he started drinking and then he drove home and then he crashed and ended up killing one of his friends.  He loses his friendship because of it. 
If you drink then drive your a bloody idiot

In the second advert there were people at a party and they were all drinking then one of the people were thinking about what could happen if his mate died. The he stood up and told his friend to not drive and to just crash at the location of the party.

Q 19. I don't think the text is fair because the text is only based around people at late teen - young adult age and the people in it are mostly Maori and Pacific Islander.

Q 10. The young adults have been betrayed as irresponsible with alcohol

Q 23. In this text their is only young adults, They have represented cultural groups very unfairly  because they are all Maori / Pacific Islander so it is very bias.

Q 26. In the first text is intended to scare you so then you don't go and do it.
In the second one it is made to be funny so you remember it.

This semester in metal.

So this semester of metal i found it difficult at times getting measurements and all but then it was moderate difficulty in other parts. But over all it was an excellent experience, learning new helpful skills. 

In my opinion i think the most difficult part was filing the sides to make them smooth due to me, personally kept slipping off the work with the file and cutting myself on the sharp edges but It didn't hurt for long. The most long lasting part was either cleaning the sides of the engineers blue and the anti rust layer or filing the sides down to shape because they were very long lasting.  My most favorite part of this semester was being able to spray paint my work. It was a very fun task and surprisingly i'm not to bad at it either.

So overall I had a great time in metal

Coat Hook Project.

So this semester we have been working on a coat hook project. For this project we needed multiple tools including, ( steel, aluminum is optional for back plate, file, scribe, hacksaw, ruler, engineers square, engineers blue, center punch, ball-peen hammer, rivets, emery cloth, oxy acetylene )

so what we did first is we got our metal, then we had to cut it, and file it down to size. After that we had to file it into shape .

Then after that we spent a lot of time cleaning out metal to make it shiny.

we marked it out for bending it.

Then we bent it to the right shape and had to clean it again.

We then counter sunk the holes and riveted it together

Then lastly we spray painted it the colour of our choice

Star maps

So for the last two periods of science we have been making star maps of some constellations that we found on star atlas.

Equipment:
1)  string
2) sewing pins
3) PVA glue
4) Cardboard
5) Black paper
6) Chalk

I choose the constellations of phoenix, sculptor, Tucana, Grus and the star Fomalhaut.

Astronomy : is the real science about space
Astrology : Is the Fake science & Theory's about space that aren't all true

Star maps were used for travel by following the north star to no north and the southern cross to go south.

English

Preforming and enhancing drugs should be allowed in sports.

I disagree with this statement because of many reasons, including that drugs are bad for your health. they can cause many major problems including heart disease, heart attack's, muscle failures. Another reason i think it shouldn't be allowed is that it will make it unfair on everyone else because everyone else there would have worked and earned their place there following after many defeats and let downs and then there is that person who all they had to do was take steroids and then he was the best.
