Passion Project Reflection
For this writing task we had to write about our opinion on passion projects. We were given different sentence starters and we had to finish them. Here are all of the sentence starters and my answers to them.
The passion project I chose was community projects.
I learned working in groups can be difficult but good at the same time.
The part I enjoyed the most was working together with people from different year levels and with people that I don't work with on a daily basis.
Something I disliked was at the start of every lesson a few groups that were doing sport related activity's had to stay behind and get told about times and letters to the primary school and having a catch up with others.
Next time I would work with different people and maybe try a different activity group.
Overall I thought that passion projects was a really great and fun experience for everyone and I would always do it again.

EOTC Review
For this writing task we have to write about answer questions that we were given reviewing our EOTC week activity's. Here are some of the questions we were given and here are my responses.
1. One word to describe how you felt before EOTC, and why?
1. One word to describe how you felt before EOTC, and why?
I felt excited because I really wanted to do different things/activity's that I wouldn't usually do. I was also excited to be doing these activity's with people I wouldn't really get to work with everyday or on a regular basis.
2. One word to describe how you felt after EOTC and why?
I felt relieved because I did so many things I have never done and before I had done them I was very afraid but now looking back at them I wouldn't regret doing any of them activity's ever.
3. What activity did you enjoy the most?
I enjoyed Adrenaline Forrest because I achieved so much while I was there and it is a really good way to help with my fear of heights . I also enjoyed floating down the Omaka Scout Camp river in a inflatable ring because it was really peaceful and calming.
4. What is something you did not enjoy?
I didn't enjoy getting bitten by mosquitoes while we were doing archery and I also didn't enjoy smelling like smoke after we had done the fire building activity.
5. Over all what was your best memory?
My best memory would have been accomplishing more at Adrenalin Forrest then I had done last time and also doing the archery and slackening because they are things I have never done before.

Adrenalin Forrest
On Thursday 29th of November, the year eights gathered together so then we can take a bus ride to Adrenalin Forrest. We were going to Adrenalin Forrest for our last day of EOTC week activity's. I showed my CARR values by not giving up half way through the course, Staying committed to finishing the course, I achieved my goal of completing the course I failed last time And I Showed respect to the other climbers in Adrenalin Forrest. My Favorite part was getting back on the ground after each of the courses even though the courses were really fun and challenging. A Challenge for me was climbing each course and trying to not let my fear of heights get to m and stop me from completing the course. Something I accomplished was beating the level I failed at last time and doing the next level up from that one. I thought this was a very great and fun experience and I would love to do it again on a school trip or just in general.

Year 8 Highlights
For this writing task we have to write about a highlight we have had over this year of school. We all thought about ideas and wrote them up on the bored so then we had more ideas to write about. My idea was to write about Koru Games because that was a really fun time I had.
Koru games was a great time because we got to get out of class and play a sport we love and enjoy for three days. I was playing football (soccer) because that is my favorite sport. At Koru Games we had around three games a day and each game lasting for about thirty minutes. At the end of each game we were all tired because these opposing teams weren't like the Friday sport teams these teams were from all over the Canterbury rejoin. These teams were really difficult teams to verse and were a challenge to all of us. Every team had a different playing style so that made it harder to adjust to so then we could find their weak points in their play. Our two football teams didn't have much rest time between each of the games because we would always be up trying to work on skills or just passing a ball around a small group. Their was a lot of fair play and even if we won or lost we would always have a smile on our faces because we knew we did our best.
Koru Games was a great experience and even though I cant do it again it would always be one of my favorite memories and I would never say no to it. It was so fun and it was good getting to know people I wouldn't really talk to on a daily basis.

The Girls Perspective
For this writing task we had to write about the Music video over the song happier as if we were either the do or the girl. I chose to write about the girls life.
The Girls Perspective
It was mt birthday and I was sitting at the dining room table. All my friends and other guests running around screaming and playing with balloons. Someone brought out my cake and it was the first feeling of delight I've had all day. I thought of a wish and took a deep breath, But then a girl run up beside me and blew them out. I was frustrated and very sad. A singular tear was rolling down my face, all i could do was sit there and wipe it off. Family members started giving me gifts, and my first one was a yellow bow. I Put it back in the box for safe keeping and put the lid back on. Then a new positive chapter of my life started as the same family member walked out with a golden retriever puppy! I was so happy, I didn't know what to say. I called him Mello. I was still in shock, he was so fluffy and he was licking my face With his warm slobbery tongue and i patted him as well. My family member took a photo of Mello and I and put it on the shelf. As time went by I would get measured by the wall and i would measure Mello as well. I loved Mello so much. All of mellos stuff would get larger and larger and he would gain more and more toys to keep him interested while i'm at school. I was all grown up and i was at senior school. One of my classes was physical education (P.E) And we were playing Football (soccer). I was the last one on the bench. No one wanted to pick me. So when i got home i would practice and practice with Mello and work on my skill and technique and he would be getting exercise as well. That following day at P.E We were taking a class photo. One of my classmates kicked me out of the front row so then she could be the star of the photo so I had to stand at the back. We were getting ready to take the photo, the photographer told everyone to smile. But when I did they all laughed and made fun of me because of my braces.
I thought this was a really good task because it got us thinking about the task and about the reading. I really enjoyed this task because it was full of different challenges like deciding on how the characters were feeling at the time and trying to write in first person.

Dear Emma
I am Aiden and i'm from Hornby High School.
If I won the summer learning journey, I would like to have a football so then I can practice in the weekends with my friends so then I can hopefully get better. It would also be something that I would enjoy very much.
